Ferret-related illnesses Had some strange flu-like symptoms yesterday.... I blame contact with a ferret. Don't worry, I was a perfect gentleman. Posted at 08:40:57 PM EST by copus

Selling drugs on the corner... as usual Description of me after a phone conversation: He sounded like someone I might meet on a streetcorner selling drugs I am not sure how I make this sort of impression on people. In fact, I made some wisecrack about speed dating tonight that "I like three minute dates, because it takes at least four minutes to creep out any girl I meet." A woman responded, "No it doesn't." Ouch. Posted at 08:38:00 PM EST by copus
Warm cuddly Powerbook My cat Shoester has taken to cuddling with the power adapter on my Powerbook. I guess he does that because it's warm. I would take a picture of it, but that would require me finding my camera, and I'm far too lazy for that right now. P.S. COMFEST is this weekend. I will be there on SUNDAY. If YOU are NOT, I might have to stop CAPITALIZING THINGS! Posted at 09:18:16 PM EST by copus
The British are Coming! Hmm... I hope we don't get into an air war with the British... Maybe we actually *should* buy more Raptors... also, maybe I should just end this post now since I might be the only one I know outside of work who is actually interested in such things... No Rome, No Rome, it just wants to be Alone So, New Rome finally had to auction off the last of their assets. I want my own police cruiser, or even the Trailer of Justice. Posted at 06:37:28 PM EST by copus Why are the good ones always insane? or just taken? So, I met the girl of my dreams of the week... again. This time, the girl ended up having her boyfriend show up later. That's what I get for actually getting the courage to at least *plan* to ask someone out. Someone from work also pointed out that (no offense) I am not the most outgoing person in the world. I didn't respond to that, mostly because it's so very true. I'm just surprised that I've gotten so bad that people notice..... I'm not even going to go into the strange work social drama lately. I think it's time to sleep... Posted at 12:09:21 AM EST by copus
Wisdom of the Ages Best Advice of the day: Me: Something strange is happening to my right foot. Slight numbness and swelling. Going to buy an axe this afternoon to take care of it. Brock: Aim high, 'cause you're going to flinch if you try to do it yourself. No use hacking your toe off only to have to go back and cut the whole foot off with the second swing. So sad, Craig Krenzel was cut from the Bears today. No reason to root for them now... sorry, Andrew. Posted at 10:12:13 PM EST by copus
Wheeee!!! The MAPS Air Show is this weekend. Stop by the LM booth Sunday afternoon between 1 and 3 and I'll give you a big happy punch in the face. It's always fun to watch B-17's fly over my house over and over all day for two days in a row. And, if you're not coming the the airshow (P.S. I hate you), enjoy every Futurama tagline on Flickr. House of My Dreams of the Week I found my local house of my dreams of the week: On Ebay, of course. I'm not sure what's up with the palm tree in one of the pictures, though. I know how cold it gets on that lake.... Posted at 10:07:10 PM EST by copus
Bachelor Party, Roast Beef, and a Numb Foot. Ahh... great weekend, good kayaking, good friends, good food, good golfing... well, not from me, but good golfing from people who are not me. Although, I had my first par hole ever, that I can remember. Almost birdied it, too. And we got to fish out other peoples' canoes when we went kayaking on the Little Darby. Oh, and somehow a little rain makes water rise and trees fall down and stuff. People who don't know how to handle a canoe should probably keep this in mind. Or just watch where they're going. Strangely enough, the right side of my foot is numb tonight. I think my right foot is trying to feel sympathy for my tongue. But that's another story. Oh, and we decided this weekend that Rax is *not* just another Hooters-styled restaurant, despite the name. Who woulda thunk? Posted at 08:16:09 PM EST by copus
Maple Syrup Urine Disease, the Amish, and James Beams It's not nearly as tasty as it sounds. Yeah, I watched a show about genetic diseases and the Amish. I'm not sure exactly why supposedly old order Amish were being interviewed on TV. And then they went on to interview Mennonites, so I'm guessing the Amish weren't just being misidentified. Anyway, MAPLE SYRUP URINE DISEASE. So, how did they originally name this disease, and how *exactly* do people identify it? I know, it's a serious deadly genetic disorder. But really... MAPLE SYRUP? URINE? I feel so very bad that I think this disease is so very funny. At least they could name it something like, "Improper Amino Acid Breakdown Disease." I think they should at least name it after a person, something like Beams Syndrome. Posted at 08:35:58 PM EST by copus
