The Champions Congratulations to the Trobots, the Canton Timken High School FIRST Robotics team that I helped with this year. They were on the winning alliance at the Buckeye Regional today. This makes them eligible for the national competition in Atlanta next month, assuming we can scrape together the funds to attend. Our robot was chosen for its extremely high speed and maneuverability... and the fact we can stay out of the way of the amazingly good teams in our alliance so they can do their thing... My New Window Vista My first batch of new windows were installed today. They spent a lot of time sawing through and breaking my old windows. The installation procedure is installed enough that I might just do all the rest of the windows at one time, rather than four at a time.

Guilt Scams I have actually been answering my phone lately since I have been talking to potential companies regarding windows and retaining walls and such. Well, tonight I answered the phone and it was the Ohio Troopers Coalition asking for a donation. I told them I would be happy to donate if they sent me information to peruse, and that I don't give out any information over the phone. After trying to hassle me for my credit or debit card numbers, they agreed to send me information... although I'm pretty sure that information will be a BILL. And I'm pretty sure they recorded my conversation because of the way the wording of their questions was construed. My confirmations of my address and willingness to possibly donate could have been construed as contractually binding. I only realized this after I hung up the phone. This made me supremely suspicious, and sure enough, according to the Columbus Dispatch this company is not really much of a charity at all, with barely six percent of the funds raised actually being donated for any charity work. So, now I am probably going to receive a bill from a company that is being SUED by the Ohio Attorney General for its shady practices. I wonder what happens when I don't pay it.... Super Mass When I boarded the plane tonight to go home from St. Louis, there was this lady sitting in my seat. I showed her my ticket and politely said, "I'm in 3A." She didn't complain, and she moved to her correct seat. Ok, whatever. Later, I had to move to the back of the plane to "balance the load." I'm surprised they knew I weighed enough to rebalance an airplane. Anyway, after we arrived in Cleveland and I went to get my luggage, the lady who was in my original seat was being pushed around in a wheelchair to get her luggage. So, I made a crippled lady move to the back of the airplane. I kind of feel like a terrible person, and I don't know even know for sure why.
