Read those Low Clearance signs Bu sent me some interesting pictures...according to one of his bridge inspector friends (I assume), "This happened on I-70 Monday night between the two exits to Hayes, KS." Posted at 08:05:31 PM EST by copus This one goes out to Baker From now on, Baker shall be remembered for his aversion to Gay, Pudding-Eating Cowboys despite their tacit acceptance by Willie Nelson. Baker, why do you hate Willie? Posted at 01:06:00 AM EST by mattho
What really TORCS me off Those of you interested in free games, or robotics, or simulations, or other stuff like that should take a look at TORCS. It's an open source racing car simulator, and you can develop your own A.I. for the car drivers. And I am part of a "racing team" for Engineer's Week. My entry will be a little robot boy that only wants to be loved by his adoptive parents. Anyway, I don't remember EVER really getting involved in Engineer's Week in college, but suddenly I am part of three different engineering "volunteer" activities. At least Team DeVulcanized Akron (sponsored by the AntiSpock) will surely reign supreme at the fake car race! Posted at 08:24:35 PM EST by copus VJ Day was 60˝ Years Ago! August 15, 1945, marked Victory over Japan Day or VJ Day. In Japan, the day is known as Shusen-kinenbi, which literally means the "Memorial day for the end of the war". I was really only trying to continue the two-capital-letters-with-the-first-one-being-a-V titled post streak going. Posted at 06:58:21 PM EST by mattho
VD and Death Tonight, two links that don't go at all well together: RIP Dr. Kenneth Breeding. I can't wait for all the chicks to come calling after I send them these Valentines. Still sort of ill... not sure why. At least I'm spreading germs at work now... Posted at 08:10:15 PM EST by copus
VP Rampage Don't mess with our Vice President, he packs heat. I have a couple of geek-related posts I want to make, but I'll wait until I can stare at a computer screen without getting dizzy before I write them up... Posted at 05:10:54 PM EST by copus
High Art Baker has decided to grace us with one of his... insightful... poetic works: gay pudding-eating cowboys i mean, what the hell... don't like dudes kissing gay is not totally bad lesbian love scenes angry elephants what sanctity of marriage look at divorce rates -fin- Well, maybe not insightful. Choose Your Own Creepy Adventure So, say you go to lunch at a Chinese restaurant with two guys who are deciding whether to hire you onto their project. Also, assume one of them opens his fortune cookie and gets a somewhat disturbed and scared look on his face. Further, the cookie's fortune says something like, "The love of your life is in front of you." What would you do at this point? a) Politely decline any potential job. b) Choke on lunch. c) Reply, "Oh, you've made me so HAPPY!" d) All of the above. Most bizarre fortune cookie moment EVER. Link o Rama - Special Edition I I've been tempted to stop and talk to the three or four beggers who hang around the highway exit ramps near my apartment every morning. Usually the same people, their signs (and stories on them) sometimes change. Well, someone in Minneapolis-St. Paul did just that. Some of their stories are pretty interesting. Yahoo has an interesting article about Reggie Bush's post-career (but pre-death, of course) study of the Torah. It's nice to see someone actually read the Bible in CONTEXT, although refusing to celebrate most religious holidays is a little "quirky." Finally, it appears Steve is making a name for himself in the Toronto club scene: ![]() Looks like he's got a future career.... SAP Pimp. Posted at 01:05:35 PM EST by copus
Quest for Glory A man challenges the conventions of Role Playing Games. The moral of the story? "... should the fate of the universe ever be in your hands, only bother to seek the aid of girls under the age of 30." Wiser words have yet to be spoken. Posted at 11:16:56 AM EST by copus
What happens in Vegas shows up in my blog Ok, two quick things.... (1) In next of many Vegas-related pictures, I'd like to show everyone the picture of that girl I went home with: ![]() There was something a little strange about the whole situation. I just can't put my finger on it. (2) And for those of you wanting to look at less disturbing photos... watch a photo gallery of Marion's production of Beauty and the Beast, featuring my cousin's daughter as the Beauty. Posted at 08:02:48 PM EST by copus Four Horsemen of the County Commissioner Well, it seems that a classmate from high school is running for office. All I want to know is why, if he's running on a VERY conservative platform, is he trying to give the impression in his biography that he supports gay marriage?
Or, at least that's what it looks like at first glance. Posted at 06:15:21 AM EST by copus
RETURN of the INCOMPARABLE White James Dance I had a witty, sarcastic, biting commentary all lined up for tonight.... but then this happened:
I guess I'll wait until later to do a post on a little Hancock County news I've heard... Man, that dance is hypnotic... either that or I'm gonna have a seizure Posted at 07:16:28 PM EST by copus
Post Traumatic Brain Candy I've read about this in a couple of different places... there seems to be a new drug that can help people cope with trauma. So, does this remind anyone of Brain Candy? Hmmm... would I like to remember the best moment of my life over and over again? You know, that moment with YOU? Posted at 09:20:29 PM EST by copus
We have a WINNER I have always liked wheelchair races:
And it is always good to see someone you know win in Vegas. Even if it is a wheelchair race. Posted at 10:28:34 PM EST by copus Screw the Ice-Capades™ This is waaaay better. Here's a quick summary of this months top search strings that have led to this website: cats on drugs mutton chops satan santa legless cats Legless cats? Maybe I should try and be the Internet's foremost resource for legless cat-related data. And mutton chops. Posted at 08:31:46 AM EST by copus
Vegas Baby, Vegas James thinks you all (well, the two or three of you who read this blog) will be happy simply perusing the archives during the Vegas trip. I do not. And much like the ant to James' grasshopper, I have collected a, uh, collection of links to entertain and amaze you for the three and a half days we will be gone. Did anyone else think of that one Simpsons episode with the Germans when you heard about this? I saw this about a Chuck Norris sponsored martial arts event to determine "America's Toughest City," but the quality of writing left me in doubt as to whether of not it was real. I am happy to say that my Google search has determined that it is. Ladies and Gentlemen, I have seen the future of the Internet. And it is 3-D. And Japanese. And, uh ... cross-eyed. It's pretty amazing once your crossed eyes finally focus on the new third image in the center. Oh yeah, and I had to change the view from "parallel" to "cross-eyed" in order to have the correct depth perspective. Check out this cool wooden block Leaning Tower of Pisa, it's going in the Guinness Book of World Records. Finally, what I consider to be the funniest thing I've ever seen on the Internet, Shovel-head. (Note: I like to play it on loop.) Posted at 04:45:04 PM EST by mattho
