Dryer Lint I've started collecting dryer lint in a flammable box on top of my dryer. Yes, I know this is not smart, but I'm sure I can find a use for dryer lint. My public service for the day is to point out dryer lint uses to all those imaginary people who read this site: The Official Dryer Lint Page The Joys of Dryer Lint When I find an original use for all that stuff I'll let y'all know. Books I finally have some new reading material with which to pass the time: Colonize This!: Young Women of Color on Today's Feminism (Live Girls Series) The Collected Sequential Neither are my typical reading fare... and now Amazon keeps recommending indie comics and books promoting feminism. What ever happened to all those recommendations promoting every DVD I've ever wanted? It's like my Tivo now automatically recording anime all the time because I watch Aqua Teen Hunger Force. ... so ends yet another shallow inane posting by yours truly. Manic Monday Why I'm sometimes hard to understand and seem sort of random: Things I'm doing *RIGHT NOW*, at this *VERY MOMENT* - browsing for Apple Newton MessagePad 2100 on eBay... not sure why - playing with a Newton MessagePad120 - IMing random friends - answering questions on OkCupid - petting a curled up Simon on my lap (Simon is a cat, I swear!) - writing a blog entry (duh) - reading old entries of Gin and the Devil and realizing it's growing on me. The comic, not gin *or* the devil. Well, maybe the Devil. - washing dishes (or at least soaking them) - mentally debating whether to go to the store, bake cookies, and bring them into work tomorrow for Mardis Gras. - Listening to Styx and Flogging Molly - Studiously avoiding thinking about work. - Looking for NyQuil to ensure that I sleep a little bit tonight. I guess if I am truly manic-depressive, I guess this is one of my more manic moods. I guess I wish I could focus on a single project and actually complete it. Or cut off my own ear. That would be SWEET. Posted at 08:34:11 PM EST by copus
Nicknames Steve registered nottheband.com this week. You know, Steve Miller, "not the band?" Get it? HAHAHAHAHA... Actually, this reminded me that back in the dorms during our freshman year, he was always having to clarify that his name was Steve Miller, not the band. So, of course, I said that I was James Copus, *the band*. It occurred to me that I've had a lot of strange nicknames over the years, and I'm thankful that none of them stuck. Here's a quick non-comprehensive list: Jamesy-Poo Bob Toucan James Jamri Capu J.C. Jimmy C. Hah-mehs Cap'n Copus ... and some that dare not speak their name. Ever. I wonder what prompts people to make up nicknames for people. And I wonder why they never stick for me. And I wonder why our President feels the need to have a nickname for everyone. I hope he calls me Cap'n Copus. Posted at 04:06:00 PM EST by copus
OFFICIAL creepy old guy at college party I think I've officially become that creepy old guy at a college party. Back in grad school, or even when I went back to parties at OSU, I at least knew a lot of the people at the parties I went to. That meant only the freshmen considered me a creepy old guy. I went to a party near the U. of Akron campus last night with some work friends, and I idn't know ANYONE but the people I brought. So, WE were the creepy old people. So sad. But at least I don't have to live off of ramen anymore. As with most things on the Internet, I wonder, "Man, why didn't *I* think of this:" http://www.bitfurnace.com/TheCuddlyMenace/ Posted at 10:49:32 PM EST by copus |
