Celebration I've been celebrating the approach to the 20 pound mark of my weight loss plan by eating whole boxes of Girl Scout cookies. See how the engineer in me just HAS to analyze any data I can. Just imagine how that linear trendline would look if I actually EXERCISED on anything resembling a regular basis...

Ada officially sucks I've been using obsolete programming languages since I started my job. I don't mind it. I've been reusing decades-old code, too. I don't mind that. Getting Fortran77, Ada, and C/C++ to work together using GCC 3.2.2, with nearly no documentation... I "kind of" mind that. But when SINE and COSINE just plain don't work in Ada using GCC 3.2.2.... that just deserves a big ole' WTF!!!! This concludes my Ada rant of the day. Apologies to any non-geeks who had to sit through that... Posted at 09:53:49 PM EST by copus
Photos Phound! My Costa Rica pictures came back today. I put them on the web at http://www.copus.org/photos/costa_rica/index.html. Unfortunately, I'm not happy at all with the quality of the photos. My thumb is in a bunch of the pics, the color and brightness aren't very good, and they seem fuzzy. I obviously can't blame myself for these problems, so I'll blame the security scanners at the airports. I mean, all those magic rays penetrating the film obviously caused the fuzziness and color and brightness problems. And.. umm... the dehydrating effects of the airport lines caused my thumbs to expand so that they filled the photo. Yeah... that's the ticket... Posted at 08:31:19 PM EST by copus
Delayed Photos... but a journal My Costa Rica photos are still not back from being developed. The people said they might be lost or damaged. I think I'll explode if that happens. So, to pass the time, I'll post some random excepts from my trip below. Warning, my journal is in James-speak, so it may not make much sense, nor does it necessarily talk about what we did. Very random. Like me. Posted at 09:33:29 PM EST by copus |
