My Second Nose I had a dream last night that I had a second nose, located right under my right eye (and that for some reason, there was plenty of room for that nose under my eye). I wasn't so much bothered by the extra nose, but I was really bothered that I hadn't noticed it before, and that no one had TOLD me about my second nose. You'd think someone would mention it. Maybe people didn't want to bring it up, or just assumed that I'd noticed it before. I don't think I could breathe out of that nose, nor did I try to pick it in my dream. You know, in case you were wondering. Man, I gotta stop eating chocolate at night. Posted at 07:38:19 AM EST by copus
Last fun in San Jose! Just wasting an evening away in San Jose, Costa Rica before we head out on a whitewater rafting trip on the Rio Pacuare for three days. Then back to the States. I'm missing home a bit, but this trip is the bomb. And yes, I just used the term "the bomb." Which isn't as bad as a guy from Fresno using the term "rad" all the time. Chirripo! Hiked to the summit at Chirripo. Painful, don't really want to talk about it, except to say my toes are blue. Here's an excerpt from an email I sent to my mother: We just got back from hiking Chirripo the last couple of days. We made it to the summit, but the fog was so bad that we couldn't see much. We met a ton of people from different countries on the hike. The hike up was 14.5 kilometers, and the hike from the lodge to the summit was 4.5 kilometers. So, it's 12.5 miles or so from the base to the summit, and it was rather steep the whole way. The total hike yesterday was about 15 miles, including the hike to the summit. The hike down was exhausting, but we made it. And those hiking shoes were ok on the way up, but on the way down my toes jammed agains the front of the shoes a lot. My toenails bruised and are blue today. I took a picture, of course. We're heading to Arenal today. There's a volcano, so we'll see if the clouds are covering the top. Supposedly we can see the lava flow on it. We dropped off a guy in San Jose a few minutes ago that we hiked with from Toronto. Most international travellers are extremely friendly. P.S. I'll try to fix the hacked blog when I get back. Probably some Perl bug, or more likely someone else's account on my hosting service got hacked *again*. Oh, well, not too destructive... yet.
