Enemy of the State and my Couch One of these little buggers ended up under my couch yesterday. Simon spent the better part of an afternoon hunting him, from what I can tell. And apparently Simon got most of his tail, which was laying in my dining room. Once I finished screaming like a little girl and put on some shoes, I shut Simon in the basement, opened my sliding door and scared him out. Apparently he got in through my basement patio door. The screen was busted out... hmmm... I wonder who busted out that screen? Was it the chipmunk? Or someone more nefarious?

New Englandiness The photos are up for the New England Road Trip. Enjoy?
Or possibly not. Link to this article Posted at 02:02:45 PM EST by copus
Up to Day 7 Now Days 5-7 are up, including Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. Day 7 photos are mostly some failed attempts at getting shots of Wells Maine's strawberry festival signs... which is only humorous if you know us.
Acadia, on the other hand, was pretty darn cool. Link to this article Posted at 06:13:10 AM EST by copus
Day 5 Lobster Larry No photos for the next couple of days... our campground has wireless up in Bar Harbor, Maine, but it's a little slow to be uploading photos. But be prepared for extremely red hot dogs and the excitement (and inherent disgusting sloppiness)of watching me eat boiled lobster. Link to this article Posted at 07:34:42 PM EST by copus
Day 4 Panoramania Today we took a van up to the top of Mount Washington. I'll save hiking the trails for another trip... one where I'm potentially in better shape. I put up most of the Day 4 photos on the Flickr page, except for these very large panoramas created with Hugin: a view of Mount Washington (1.1 MB) and a view from the summit of Mount Washington (1.2 MB). ![]() Link to this article Posted at 07:39:19 PM EST by copus New England Day 3 Day 3 of our road trip, from Burlington, VT to Franconia Notch, NH has been added to Flickr. ![]() Link to this article Posted at 08:01:09 AM EST by copus
Vacation Orientation *whoops*... I'll post this a second time so it shows up somewhat correctly in my RSS feeds and the comments will work properly... it helps to add a title. If you want to see the first couple of days of photos of my New England road trip (in progress), check out my Flickr Set on the subject. I'll try to update as often as possible...

Seeing myself in others One of the things I am uncomfortable with is writing up a formal assessment of my peers as part of a performance evaluation. I like the concept of it, but I am just not very good at taking the time to evaluate a peer's contributions. It occured to me, though, that I can use this formal assessment of other employees to show management just how awesome I really am. Therefore, I decided to write up a generic evaluation that properly details my superior judgement of the contributions of any of my coworkers: INSERT EMPLOYEE NAME HERE's skills complement my massive genius perfectly. He/She is a team player in that he/she understands that the team would not function in any manner without my skills. For example, in a recent task I was able to save the company INSERT NON-ZERO REAL INTEGER billion dollars though a breakthrough innovation devised entirely by me. INSERT EMPLOYEE NAME HERE supported this task by not trying to interfere or express an opinion on the subject. Strengths: Seeks guidance from me. Agrees with my superior judgement. Loudly praises my value to the team in public settings and private conversations. Areas for Improvement: Occasionally tries to perform tasks without my consultation. Does not loudly praise my superior intellect when sleeping or unconscious. Link to this article Posted at 02:54:55 PM EST by copus
