So, I was recently in Texas on a business trip. I found out that I was staying in a dry county, and to get served alcohol, I would need to present my
Unicard. To those of you who, like me, live in the 21st century and do not know what a Unicard is, let me enlighten you.
The Unicard is a way for individuals to fast-lane their membership into "private clubs" (which are allowed to serve alcohol) by providing a universally recognized ID which said "private clubs" accept.
It is strange to me that Texas would have dry counties. However, given the fact of dry counties: I am not surprised that Texans would find a way around the laws in order to drink.
By the way, the "private club" I was at was Applebees. Ugh.
